The next generation of impact investing

About us

Climate Impact Capital (CIC) is an early stage focused venture capital group who sees the need for financial institutions to take a larger role in addressing climate change and its related impacts on key resource issues. CIC is looking for solutions to the big issues: climate change, resource availability and sustainable solutions for 9+ Billion people in 2100. We not only bring a new system level investment approach, but also a new category of target companies for long-term impact investors. CIC sees this as a multi-generational task and we are seeking partners and companies that take a long-term view on impact investing and growth. Investment Thesis Climate Impact Capital takes the following facts as evident and as the basis for identifying and growing companies that will create both meaningful financial and societal returns: • Increased greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere are already impacting our climate, society and the livability of the planet for people and the rest of the terrestrial biome. • Climate change impact will grow not linearly but potentially exponentially, with unanticipated variance, and unforeseen impacts. • Systematic effort is needed to both mitigate these impacts by reducing GHGs, but also on preparing and adapting to the changes that are already occurring. Investment Strategy CIC targets sectors with significant inefficiencies, energy waste, and opportunities for disruptive models. These sectors are chosen for impact and return, using deep sectoral understanding based on system modeling of the cause, effect, and the feedback loops between market factors, technology trends and policy decisions (a.k.a. System Dynamics). This systems approach is an additional value we bring to our partners, and will maximize financial results and impact. Focus Climate Impact Capital will invest primarily in the overlap of climate mitigation and adaption, initially targeting the Energy-Food-Water (EFW) nexus.
