The no-BS CRM for humans selling to other humans

About us

Close is a bootstrapped, profitable, 100% remote, 100+ person team of thoughtful individuals who value autonomy and impact. We’re eager to make a product our customers fall in love with over and over again. We ❤️ small, scaling businesses. Since 2013, we’ve been building a CRM that focuses on better communication without the hassle of manual data entry or complex UI. Our goal: double the productivity of every sales rep. Our values: 🏡 Build a house you want to live in 🚫 No BS 🤝 Invest in each other 💪 Discipline equals freedom 🥇 Strive for greatness How we work together: * Productivity, Quality, & Impact: We don’t track hours. We trust you’re an adult and know best how to prioritize, meet your goals and contribute at a high level. * Asynchronous communication & collaboration: We have team members all over the world. We don’t expect anyone to work untraditional hours, that means our default is async. Most teams have 2-5 hours of internal meetings weekly. * Appreciation for Deep Work: *During your normal work day, not after a day of meetings*. * Autonomy & Freedom: Create a work environment that is sustainable for you. We place a high amount of trust and responsibility with our team members from the start.

Which company makes the fastest sales calls in B2B SaaS? 🏆 Sprout Social, Inc. We tested 25 companies from G2’s list of the Best Software for Small Businesses, submitting demo forms and tracking the time it took for someone to call us. Sales calls are a competitive advantage, so we wanted to see how quickly we could get a human on the phone to help. Our winner uses a unique approach that gives them an edge. After you submit a demo form on the Sprout Social site, you have two buttons to click: 1) Call me now or 2) Schedule a meeting. We clicked “Call me now,” and they weren’t kidding—they called in SECONDS. (Yes, it was a real human, not AI!) We were also impressed with Birdeye. While most companies sent automated confirmation emails as a first touch, an SDR from Birdeye replied via phone, email, *and* SMS just one minute after submitting the form. We loved their multi-channel hustle! Check out the full rankings below. What else would you want us to analyze next time we do an undercover sales experiment?

We 7x'ed our calls and closed 32% more deals, all by fixing a common mistake For years, we treated our free trials like most PLG teams do—let users explore, send some emails, hope they convert. Then we asked: What if we actually talked to them? So we ran a 90-day experiment: call new trials fast, keep it simple, and figure out what they really needed to make a decision. Here’s what happened: ✅ 598% increase in calls ✅ 32% more deals closed ✅ Faster qualification = more time spent on real buyers The kicker: Many of these deals wouldn’t have closed without a quick call. Some users just needed clarity. Some were comparing tools. Others didn’t realize they had a problem we could solve. The takeaway: PLG doesn’t mean "hands-off." If you’ve got trial users who show any interest, talk to them. Fast. Your bottom line will thank you. Get the full breakdown in the comments.

Is it called Salesforce because you have to force sales people to use it? 🤔 Getting reps to update their CRM has been a battle since the dawn of time. People say things like, "Reps hate data!"  "They don't know how to use the data!"  "They're not taught how to leverage it all!" Nah. That’s not the problem. Salespeople hate manual data entry—always have, always will. You can’t just force reps to do more of it and expect it to stick. No matter how much you tell them it’ll help them make more money, most will avoid it like the plague. Sellers love the hunt. The competition, the deal-making, the relationship building. They thrive on energy, conversations, and action. But meticulous, repetitive tasks? That’s like asking a shark to enjoy swimming in a bathtub. The solution: Eliminate as much of the manual work as possible. Your CRM should help with this. ;) Data should be:  ✔️ Essential, strategic, and long-lasting ✔️ Directly tied to helping them close more deals ✔️ Minimal—think 5 minutes, not 20 AI and automation should do the heavy lifting so reps can focus on what they do best—selling! Most teams don’t think about this. They just dump data tasks on reps and wonder why adoption fails. Don’t be that team. Be smart about what you ask of your salespeople, or expect them to ignore it. Agree or disagree?
