Anaerobic digesters break down animal waste with a zero-carbon footprint, which can then be reused as fertilizer or for other uses. As more dairies adopt this equipment across the US, one of Clover Sonoma’s partner dairies already uses this process to reduce their carbon-footprint with more preparing to in the future. Take a look at our pinned post for a closer look at the dairies that continue to raise our high sustainability standards. https://lnkd.in/ev9dJ8kA

Great interview on Clover joining the Dairy Methane Action Alliance featuring our very own Michael Benedetti. https://lnkd.in/eCcDPS-7
Great interview with Katie Anderson, EDF + Business Senior Director of Food & Forests, on the Dairy Methane Action Alliance and welcoming two new members: Starbucks and Clover Sonoma. She speaks with Michael Benedetti of Clover Sonoma on how the Alliance is aiming to drive down methane in dairy supply chains - a sector responsible for ~10% of human-caused methane emissions. 🐄 We’re thrilled to see growing momentum to reduce this potent greenhouse gas that’s 80x more potent than CO2 in the short term! And kudos to the DMAA companies for leading on responsible corporate stewardship and setting a positive precedent for the dairy industry. https://lnkd.in/eCcDPS-7

We’re pleased to announce our partnership with Dairy Methane Action Alliance – a group of food and dairy companies committing to measure methane emissions and develop action plans that will cut methane from supply chains with support from the NGO Environmental Defense Fund. As the first California dairy to join, we’re proud to continue our work on innovation and mitigation of this climate-warming gas and help secure a healthy food future for all. BIG News: Momentum continues in driving down methane emissions as Starbucks ☕ and Clover Sonoma 🥛 sign onto the Dairy Methane Action Alliance (DMAA)! This powerful Alliance convenes companies with dairy in their supply chains to reduce methane from cows and move the needle on climate change. First announced at #COP28, the Bel Group, Danone, General Mills, Kraft Heinz, Lactalis USA and Nestlé launched DMAA with Environmental Defense Fund. Now with our new members, the reach of our climate impact expands! Why this matters: 🐄👨🌾 Cutting methane is the fastest way to slow the rate of global warming and ~10% of its human-caused emissions comes from dairy. In fact, methane pollution from 2023 will warm our planet more in the next 10 years than all the CO2 from fossil fuels in the same year. 💼💲 We can help farmers and companies bolster business continuity and supply chain resilience as the planet warms. 📝📉 By the end of this year, DMAA companies agreed to account for and publicly disclose methane emissions from their dairy supply chains and create a public methane action plan to drive down emissions. Through DMAA, EDF is working to ensure that every bite of yogurt and sip of milk has as low greenhouse gas emissions as possible as soon as we can! Join us in celebrating this major win: https://lnkd.in/eu5GDQaC

So thankful to have Hannah's talents and passion supporting our dairies and helping to build the future of Clover! Well deserved recognition. Congratulations!!
I feel so fortunate and privileged to have grown up in Petaluma and in the dairy industry. In 2012, I left our community to get an education not knowing if I’d ever make it back. That path led me to Oklahoma, Washington, and Pennsylvania. In 2020, a set of, what feels like, perfectly placed circumstances led me back to our dairy community in Petaluma where I started a job at Clover Sonoma. It’s been an awesome 4 years and I am excited for what’s yet to come. Last night, I was honored to attend two separate events as an award recipient, one of North Bay Business Journal’s forty under 40 and Naturally North Bay’s People + Community award. Albert Straus presented me the People + Community award, and that in itself was extremely special. I am so lucky to work in this community with families who are so passionate about what they do, the animals they care for, and the land that they nurture to put food on our tables everyday.
