👋 Say hello to this month’s spotlight, Annie Billman, Principal Technical Program Manager. Annie is based in Oregon and joined the Coalition team in 2022. 💡Annie was in the middle of a job hunt when a venture capitalist friend mentioned that cyber insurance would be a key player in the coming years. He specifically mentioned Coalition, so Annie applied for an open role. A year later, a role that more closely matched her experience opened up, and that’s when she joined our team. ✅ As a technical program manager, Annie focuses on Coalition’s cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance and works on anything related to compliance, standards, controls, or policies. In her day-to-day, she reviews contracts, ensures we have proper access controls in place, reviews new regulations, and determines if any gaps in our infosec program need to be filled. 🏃♀️Since she gets the best focus time in the morning, she appreciates the flexibility of our remote-first culture. It allows her to step away to walk her dog or go for a run to reset her focus if it’s drifting before jumping back into work. 🔑 Annie’s favorite part of her yearly team offsites is the escape room competitions. They give her insight into how everyone communicates and solves problems together. 🎨 Outside work, she loves to paint acrylics and watercolors — including pet portraits.

Having dedicated time with our teams and working on problems cross-functionally are always some of our favorite memories at Camp Coalition. This year, we held a company-wide hackathon where teams were tasked with creating a proof of concept in just three hours. Some killer solutions were presented to improve broker and policyholder experiences, automation, renewals, and more. 😁 We're excited to get to work on many of these ideas that will have big impacts to our brokers, policyholders, and internal workflows.
