Congrats to the Calo project team on being nominated as a Calibre Design Award finalist for the Hospitality & Retail category! The foremost goal in constructing the Calo Kitchen + Tequila South Coast Plaza project was to design a restaurant befitting the upscale and luxury reputation of South Coast Plaza. No expense was spared on finishes, which is evident from the moment you walk into the space. Interior highlights feature custom niches that display Calo’s impressive collection of tequilas, cascade coil metal draperies at the main bar's ceiling, an exhibition kitchen and two private dining rooms. Exterior highlights include a watertight patio allowing for year round indoor-outdoor dining, custom firepits, intricate booths and tables, exterior radius bar and new landscaping.
