Although work has been underway for a few months, we recently celebrated the groundbreaking of our multifamily project in Sisters, Oregon, The Grove at Sunset Meadows. This 84-unit project will bring much-needed housing and a beautiful development to Central Oregon. We were fortunate to have Mayor Michael Preedin attend and speak at the event, and he shared his enthusiasm and gratitude for the relationship Cobalt has built with the city. Located just off McKenzie Highway (Hwy 242), this project is ideally situated to provide quick access to downtown Sisters, as well as walking distance from a wide range of local amenities and services. Meet Luke Davis, one of our project engineers born and raised in the picturesque Pacific Northwest. Luke graduated from BYU with a degree in Construction Management and his journey with Cobalt began as its first intern, playing a pivotal role in helping get Sonder Fields off the ground by gathering documents, surveying the property, and assisting Bart with various time-saving errands. This experience provided broad exposure to the many stages of development, and it was when he first connected with Daniel Griffiths.  When Luke met Daniel they quickly formed a strong bond and was brought on board to be part of DBDG shortly before it merged with Cobalt. Luke had the opportunity to vet new projects and develop proformas which then led to his role on our COB3 project in San Mateo. His efforts as assistant project manager have been critical to the success of this project as it crosses the finish line this summer. Luke and his wife Brinley recently moved from Utah to Oregon to be closer to his family and the company’s headquarters. He enjoys traveling and is a loyal Portland Trail Blazers fan, no matter the team’s performance. Luke loves watching college football on brisk November nights, perfectly capturing his passion for sports and the outdoors. His dedication to his work and personal interests, along with his loyal, optimistic attitude, make him an incredible asset to the Cobalt team. From blueprint to reality, our newest multifamily development Tilian Point looks beautiful and is ready for its big moment! As we near completion, we are beginning to pre-lease Building 1 and schedule tours of our newly furnished model unit for prospective tenants. We anticipate Building 1 will be ready for move-in, along with the completion of the clubhouse, on August 1st, and Building 2 will begin move-ins early in September. Sonder Fields Apartments | Happy Valley, OR The Sonder Fields Apartments are complete! Located in the heart of Happy Valley, near two schools and a community sports complex; HHPR provided civil engineering, construction administration, land use planning and survey services for this 10-acre, 8 building apartment complex. Site design elements included a public roadway extension of SE Parklane Drive, public utility extensions, community open spaces, site accesses, parking lots, ADA compliance, site retaining walls, pedestrian connections, site utilities, a sanitary pump station and multiple stormwater management rain gardens. It was a pleasure working with the Cobalt team and LRS Architects, Inc. We look forward to more projects together!

Every spring we host our annual all-staff gathering, aka The CO3 (Cobalt Connections Conference). The theme this year was “Head Space” and focused on having a growth mindset and caring for our mental health. It was also the perfect opportunity to christen our newly finished headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon. All of our employees are spread over 5 states so it is a chance to gather, connect, and learn from each other. In a small, start-up environment we all wear many hats and are constantly adapting to an evolving business.
