We’re excited to share the success of the inaugural Career-Connected Learning event, hosted in collaboration with Cobbs Creek Foundation and TGR Foundation, at Merion Golf Club! Last month, 26 high school students from Philadelphia had the incredible opportunity to explore diverse careers in golf and hospitality.
They rotated through hands-on stations, learning from Merion Golf Club professionals and discovering exciting career paths. We send a huge thank you to everyone who made this impactful day possible! To learn more about the event, check out the link here: https://lnkd.in/e38Rmqzn
Spanning 350 acres, Cobbs Creek Foundation connects six zip codes and three counties—impacting communities across the region with its restoration, education, and community efforts.
We had an incredible time last Saturday at Work To Ride's Philadelphia Polo Classic with TGR Foundation
Thank you to all the students, families and community members that stopped by to learn more about all that will be happening at the Cobbs Creek Campus, from golf and entertainment to the 30,000 sqft TGR Learning Lab scheduled to open this spring!
The Cobbs Creek Foundation is grateful for the ongoing recognition of the incredible progress we have made and remain committed to as we continue this transformational project. We look forward to achieving even more as we work to fulfill our vision.
"Today, this ground is in Philadelphia. But if a successful model is created at Cobbs Creek, combining golf and STEM education under a non-profit, self-supporting model, other cities might have to sit up and take notice. Chicago. Detroit. St. Louis. Los Angeles. Houston. Maybe they’ll see the municipal course that time has forgotten and see something different. Maybe times can change."

Cobbs Creek Foundation is dedicated to making a lasting environmental impact. As part of our $150 million capital campaign, we are proud to be investing $30 million towards environmental stewardship. This investment will focus on restoring three miles of waterways and creating wetlands here in Philadelphia. Making it “One of the largest true process-based stream restoration projects (not an engineered system) in a mega-urban environment in the country....Truly exceptional in size and quality for a large city and will be a showcase for what can be done to restore urban environments.” Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
We're excited to share The Philadelphia Citizen's article, 'Golf for Good?', highlighting Cobbs Creek Foundation’s mission to create an inclusive, state-of-the-art golf and educational campus that will provide opportunities for Philadelphia's youth. The Cobbs Creek Campus is making incredible progress across all construction efforts, and 2025 is set to be a transformative year! This spring, we will celebrate the opening of the TGR Learning Lab, followed by the launch of our two-story Driving Range in the summer, which will feature a heritage museum, community event space, and restaurant. The TGR Design Short Course will also open in the summer, offering an inclusive space for golfers of all skill levels. Along with these exciting additions, we are continuing to improve Campus infrastructure, including new sidewalks for the community. None of this progress would be possible without the support and collaboration of our amazing partners: Becker & Frondorf, Blackney Hayes Architects, TGR Foundation, and Troon. Let us know in the comments what you're most excited for in 2025!
