It’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and DV affects far more people than we may realize. More than 10 million adults in the United States experience some form of domestic violence annually. That’s more than 10 times the population of Indianapolis. Additionally, it’s estimated that only half of all DV incidents get reported, so the real number of affected people is likely much higher. Every month, we host a therapeutic program where survivors explore healing through the power of storytelling. Hearing from fellow survivors can inspire and encourage others on their path toward a fresh start. It's a space for community, support, growth and hope!

Domestic violence is not only an adult problem. Kids are one of the most vulnerable populations to its effects. Children who witness DV are: •  Six times more likely to die by suicide and 50% more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol • 74% more likely to commit a violent crime against someone else • Three times more likely to be abused or perpetrate abuse in adulthood It's our collective responsibility to break this cycle and create a safer, healthier future for our kids. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and recognizing a problem is the first step to solving it.
