It’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and DV affects far more people than we may realize. More than 10 million adults in the United States experience some form of domestic violence annually. That’s more than 10 times the population of Indianapolis. Additionally, it’s estimated that only half of all DV incidents get reported, so the real number of affected people is likely much higher. Help is available – don’t be afraid to reach out. #DVawareness #BreakTheSilence #SupportSurvivors #DVAM24

Domestic violence is not only an adult problem. Kids are one of the most vulnerable populations to its effects. Children who witness DV are: • Six times more likely to die by suicide and 50% more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol • 74% more likely to commit a violent crime against someone else • Three times more likely to be abused or perpetrate abuse in adulthood It's our collective responsibility to break this cycle and create a safer, healthier future for our kids. Let's provide the support and resources they need. #BreakTheCycle #EndDV #DVAM24

Domestic violence is a growing epidemic. On a typical day, more than 20,000 calls are placed to DV hotlines nationwide. For reference, that’s more calls for help per day than the capacity of the average NBA stadium. This staggering figure highlights the urgent need for support and resources. Let's be the voice that answers those calls. Together, we can make a change. Click the link below for domestic violence support. #SupportSurvivors #EndDV #DVAM24 https://lnkd.in/dtqZmHgj

We had a couple of awesome groups from Salesforce set up apartments recently! One team prepared a cozy studio for a single survivor, and the other put together a warm two-bedroom for a mom with twins. Thanks so much for creating a welcoming space for survivors! 💜

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and recognizing a problem is the first step to solving it. DV can affect anyone – one in three women and one in four men in the United States have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner. DV does not end with physical abuse – it can manifest as emotional, sexual, financial abuse and more. The statistics are alarming, but they also serve as a call to action. Spread the word, support survivors, and let's put an end to domestic violence. #EndDV #DVAM24
