Big thanks to Mignonne Hollis and Sarah Pacheco, MPS from the Arizona Regional Economic Development Foundation for coordinating this illuminating event.
We were honored join in welcoming the Arizona-Mexico Commission to Douglas for an impactful two-day visit! The focus was on strengthening cross-border healthcare collaboration and infrastructure between our communities. The AMC Healthcare Committee hosted a Cross-Border Healthcare Roundtable with healthcare providers from across Cochise County and Sonora, fostering dialogue on shared healthcare challenges and partnership opportunities. AMC members engaged with City of Douglas during a discussion about their current goals and challenges. They then enjoyed a tour of the Douglas Port of Entry and an insightful visit to the site of the upcoming New Port of Entry — an exciting step forward for the future of commerce in Cochise County! Thank you to the members of the Arizona Mexico Commission for visiting Cochise County, this visit was a great step in promoting regional collaboration and ensuring a healthier future for our binational communities! 📰 NEWS RELEASE Board of Supervisors Appoints Randy Judd as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 BISBEE, Ariz. (10/01/2024) In a significant decision made during a special meeting held today, the Cochise County Board of Supervisors has unanimously appointed Randy Judd as the new Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 the remainder of the term for the vacant seat, effective November 13, 2024. This appointment comes following a recommendation from the Justice of the Peace Selection Committee, which submitted the names of Judd and Terisha Driggs for consideration. After a brief recess into Executive Session, the Board confirmed Judd's appointment. Additionally, he is appointed as Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore for Precinct 3 effective October 1, 2024. "We are confident that Randy Judd will bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the role of Justice of the Peace," said Ann English, Chair of the Board of Supervisors. "His commitment to the community and his prior experience in this role make him an excellent choice to fill this critical position." Randy Judd, who has a robust background in law enforcement and as a Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. "I am honored to serve the community in this capacity and look forward to upholding the principles of justice and fairness in Precinct 3," he stated.
