The College of the Muscogee Nation is the institution of higher education for the Muscogee Creek Nation emphasizing native culture, values, language and self determination. The College will provide a positive learning environment for tribal and non-tribal students as citizens of a tribal and global society supported by teaching excellence and will offer exemplary academic programs that meet student, tribal, and societal needs. Through instructional quality and visionary leadership, the College of the Muscogee Nation will encourage lifelong learners, for personal growth, professional development, and intellectual advancement.

  • 20th Anniversary Highlights CMN Employee: Kathy McCormack Kathy McCormack serves as the Admissions Officer at CMN in the Enrollment Management department. Mrs. McCormack is a Mvskoke tvsekvyv (citizen) and of the Wotkvlke (raccoon clan). She lives in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and is from the Cox lineage. Her academic credentials include degrees in Information Systems and Enterprise Development from OSUIT and a Bachelor's and Master's in Business Administration from SNU. Kathy was inducted into Delta Mu Delta, an International Academic Honor Society in Business, and is a member of the National and Regional Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. Her commitment to higher education is unwavering, having seen the transformative power of education on individual lives and future generations and how it impacts people. Mrs. McCormack’s greatest joy has been witnessing CMN students graduate, crossing the stage, heads held high and hearts brimming with pride. Kathy joined the CMN family in 2009 as an assistant to the Registrar. Through the years, she has developed admissions policies and procedures to remove enrollment barriers and assisted with multiple software implementations. In addition, she has served on the Executive Leadership team, Accreditation Committee, Co-Curricular Assessment, Strategic Planning, and multiple other committees. She has given presentations throughout Mvskoke communities on higher education and the tribal college. Her priorities include fostering educational growth and guiding students through their academic journey in preparation for their future. She firmly believes that one can achieve anything with determination, and when CMN students graduate, they carry with them an educational degree that will empower them to shape their futures. Kathy has expressed her gratitude for allowing her to serve the students and their families for the past 15 years. She takes immense pride in working at CMN and is honored to be a part of this institution. Quote: “Our roots run deep, like the ancient oaks that shade our campus as we celebrate 20 years.   • 20th Anniversary Highlights CMN Employee/Alumni: Krystal Wind Krystal Wind serves as the Dean of Student Affairs at the College of the Muscogee Nation (CMN), graduating from CMN in 2010 with an A.S. in Tribal Services. In 2017, she received an M.A. in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. Ms. Wind (Muscogee Creek) is Bear Clan, and her tribal town is Thlopthlocco. She currently resides in Morris, OK with her daughter. As a member of the Morris JOM Parent Committee, she helped to organize student cultural activities and awards banquets. She enjoys spending time with her family and training for the annual MCN Festival 5K and Tulsa Run. Since 2015, she serves as the administrative leader for Student Housing, Campus Security, Health and Wellness Services, and Marketing. In addition, she is responsible for student conduct, complaints and grievances, and physical accommodations. Prior to serving as Dean, she was the coordinator for the Student Success Center where she advised and enrolled students, coordinated placement testing, and conducted community outreach to encourage high school students to pursue higher education. Ms. Wind serves on several committees at the College including the Higher Learning Commission Accreditation, Student Conduct and Housing Judicial Hearing, and Achieving the Dream. In addition to her service at CMN, Ms. Wind serves on the Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, is a member of the Oklahoma Council on Student Affairs, and a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). She also serves as the Student Senate Advisor and is passionate about striving to create a safe and inclusive campus where students are empowered to grow and learn more about their personal strengths. Krystal says that attending CMN inspired her to continue to learn the Muscogee language, pursue higher education, and to help students achieve their educational goals. Ms. Wind stated that while she was in high school, she did not have college plans until she heard about CMN which opened the door for her to pursue higher education. She is grateful for the opportunities provided by CMN and is honored to be a part of the meaningful work being done at the College for the students and community. Krystal strongly believes that any goal can be achieved by working together. Quote: “We must always strive to work as a team because individually we are strong, but together we are invincible.”

This opportunity is for Muscogee (Creek) citizens who wish to become Mvskoke Language Teachers. *Fellows will each receive a $25,000 stipend to help with expenses associated with the student's cost of attendance, and to ensure they are able to devote full attention to learning the Mvskoke language.
