Congratulations to Tulsa University, the University Challenge winners! Team Tulsa University members Ian Bates, Raegan Beeding, Ileana Braddock, Alisa Grigorieva, and Jackson McKinney. They prevailed against strong competition from the University of Oklahoma, and SWOSU. Team Tulsa University was aided by faculty representative Tally Ferguson. In addition to winning $150 each along with a trophy, the team will advance to the Sub-Regional competition level where they will face teams from the Americas region. Beyond that level, the winning teams will compete in the Regional Semifinals, Regional Finals, and ultimately the Global Final against teams from EMEA and Asia Pacific. The CFA Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. Each student will be tested on their analytical, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills. They gain real-world experience as they assume the role of a research analyst.
