About us
The Colorado Physician Health Program (CPHP) is a nonprofit organization, independent of other medical organizations and the government. CPHP provides the peer assistance services for licensed physicians, physician assistants and anesthesiology assistants of Colorado. CPHP also has Training Program contracts to serve Resident, Medical Students and Physician Assistant Students. CPHP clients are assured confidentiality as required by law or regulation. Peer assistance services aid individuals who have any problems that would affect one’s health such as emotional, psychological or medical problems. For example, CPHP assists its clients with medical and/or psychiatric conditions as well as psychosocial conditions (e.g. family problems, stress related to work or professional liability difficulties). CPHP provides diagnostic evaluation, treatment referral as well as treatment monitoring and support services. CPHP believes that early intervention and evaluation offer the best opportunity for a successful outcome and for preventing the health condition from needlessly interfering with medical practice. September is National Suicide Awareness Month: Let's Talk About Physician Mental Health! Did you know that physicians have one of the highest suicide rates of any profession in the United States? Studies show that approximately 300-400 physicians die by suicide each year. The pressures and challenges of medical practice, combined with the stigma around seeking help, can make it difficult for doctors to reach out for support. At Colorado Physician Health Program (CPHP), we are committed to the wellbeing of our healthcare providers. Our confidential services provide physicians, physician assistants and trainees with the necessary resources to address mental health challenges, including counseling, assessment, and peer support. We believe that by fostering an environment where it is okay to seek help, we can make a difference in the lives of those who dedicate their lives to caring for others. This month, let’s break the silence and raise awareness about physician mental health. If you or someone you know needs support, please don’t hesitate to reach out at (303) 860-0122. Together, we can make a difference. #SuicideAwarenessMonth #PhysicianHealth #CPHP

CPHP is honored to support medical trainees throughout Colorado, including those in medical schools, PA programs, and residency programs! Each year, we collaborate with training programs across the state to highlight the critical importance of trainee health, advocate for accessible resources, and educate those embarking on their medical careers. Every August, we are invited by training programs to orient their new classes about physician health and the services CPHP offers. We are delighted to provide this essential education and deeply value our partnerships with these institutions. https://lnkd.in/gEnVge42 Establishing healthy habits early in your career is vital. Have you heard of PTO meaning "pretend time off"? We continue to see evidence during this summer that physicians still have a hard time taking true vacations. CPHP highly recommends you take quality time away from work to help with mental health and revitalization! https://lnkd.in/gii7xtpr #CPHP #physicianhealth
