About us
With over 7 million members… Color Of Change is the largest online force taking action on behalf of Black people in America. Both corporations and our government make decisions every day that impact Black people and our communities. With our members’ needs and voices leading the charge, we fight to hold decision-makers accountable, and win changes that matter: in the criminal justice system, in the media, in the workplace, in the economy, in our democracy, everywhere. Founded in response to Hurricane Katrina… where government officials failed to meet even the most basic needs of Black people in crisis, and where the media promoted unfair, inaccurate, and dehumanizing images of Black people to rationalize it – our purpose is to make the voice of our community both un-ignorable, and powerful enough to change the system. If we act together strategically, creatively, and collaboratively, we believe creating a less hostile and more human world for Black people – and all people – is possible.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” On the 61st anniversary of the #MarchOnWashington and Dr. King’s timeless #IHaveADream speech, let us carry this reminder that a brighter, more just future is on the horizon — we just have to show up and vote for it in November! Check out COC's campaigns for voting freedom & democracy. 👉🏾 https://lnkd.in/g7kyVmz

Today, we celebrate #WomensEqualityDay, a.k.a. the 104th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave all women the right to vote and run for political office. 🙌🏾 As we head into a critical election this year, let’s not take this anniversary lightly. We must honor and celebrate those who fought for women’s equality, especially Black women, by making our voices heard at the ballot box! 🗳 In the meantime, learn about COC’s campaigns for voter freedom and join us in the fight for racial justice. ✊🏾 ➡️ https://coc.is/3Xl99r2

During Tuesday's “Vision for the Future” event, we heard from Color Of Change President Rashad Robinson on the importance of elections in making people’s lives better; from Pete Buttigieg who spoke to COC Managing Director Portia Allen-Kyle about electing partners in the work for justice into office; from Maxwell Frost on the need to build and use power for good; and from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on why the movements for climate justice, economic justice, and racial justice are one and the same. Sending our thanks to Dream.Org for hosting us! The work for justice goes beyond November. The time is now to build a bold vision for the future by coming together and charting the path forward. Follow along as Color Of Change advocates for racial justice on the last day of the DNC! 📲
