In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we welcomed Lisa and Vicente Gutierrez, owners of Dos Hermanos Taco Truck LLC, to speak about their journey of growing a business from one food truck into three brick-and-mortar locations, multiple food trucks and a catering business. Lisa discussed how she utilized her experience in food service to open their own business, and Vicente shared how his Oaxacan roots shaped the culinary direction of the Dos Hermanos the community knows and loves!

The VOICE Team from the department and Columbus Public Health likes to call the work they do “heart work” – the team supports victims of violent crime and support their physical and mental recovery. But it’s hard work too, and the team needs to relax and connect with each other. The team recently gathered for a recognition day, where they completed a peace walk to commemorate the victims they serve and have an open team dialogue, participated in a gratefulness exercise, relaxed with some fun and games, and talked about what’s coming up for the program.
