This #SuicideAwarenessDay, we at Committee of 100 have called for greater support for and attention on mental health in the #ChineseAmerican community. Read more about our recent Immigrant Rights Fair with Documented at Glow Cultural Center in this article written by Documented's April Xu! Thanks to all who helped make the event such a success.
On Saturday, Documented’s Chinese Community Correspondent Ke "April" Xu hosted a workshop dispelling misinformation and common misconceptions about the “public charge” policy at our Immigrant Rights Fair co-hosted with Committee of 100 and Glow Cultural Center. More than 100 Chinese immigrants attended, seeking vital in-language resources and information. We share our special thanks to our co-hosts as well as other community organizations that participated: NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, New York City Commission on Human Rights, Asian American Bar Association of New York, Community Legal Aid Center, the Asian American Attorneys Association, and Chinese-American Planning Council. We spent our Saturday at Glow Cultural Center hosting an Immigrant Rights Fair along with Documented! We provided resources and support to immigrant communities, including several workshops on free legal resources, our AAPI Hate Tracker, and the "public charge" policy. ✊🗣️💡
