Home should be a place of comfort and safety for everyone. Rebuilding Together North Texas (RTNTX) is making sure that's a reality for everyone by providing vital repairs to create safe, healthy spaces for low-income homeowners in the Dallas-Fort Worth area—especially seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. RTNTX recently teamed up with Fannie Mae through a skills-based volunteering initiative lead by Common Impact. Fannie Mae volunteers worked closely with RTNTX to create a robust financial forecasting tool and grant management matrix. This project will help RTNTX streamline their grant process, giving them the ability to better predict funding opportunities and manage resources effectively, allowing them to serve even more homeowners in need across North Texas. If you're inspired by RTNTX's mission and want to learn how volunteerism is making a difference for the organization, hear from Tia LaFavor, Executive Director at RTNTX. ⬇️ 🏠 #CommunityRevitalization #SkillsBasedVolunteering #AffordableHousing #RebuildingLives https://lnkd.in/gUJz_FtF

"Volunteering has a 'triple bottom line.' It’s not just about giving back. It's about creating a ripple effect that benefits communities, volunteers, and our nation." ⬇️
More wisdom from the 250 & Beyond National Service Symposium last week: Michael Smith hit the nail on the head when he highlighted the enduring value of AmeriCorps: volunteering has a "triple bottom line." It’s not just about giving back. It's about creating a ripple effect that benefits communities, volunteers, and our nation. 🙌 The value of service goes far beyond individual contributions—it's about creating lasting change for society. #AmeriCorps #Volunteering #ServiceLeadership #TripleBottomLine #CommunityImpact

(NEHI) North East Housing Initiative (NEHI), a nonprofit dedicated to providing permanently affordable shared equity housing in North East Baltimore, collaborated with a team of skilled corporate volunteers to tackle a key challenge: enhancing their website to reflect their mission and programs better. With a decade-long history of transforming abandoned properties into affordable homes, NEHI needed a more user-friendly, logically structured website to engage donors, supporters, and recipients effectively. The volunteers thoroughly assessed NEHI’s website, identifying areas for improvement and providing actionable recommendations to enhance usability and clearly showcase NEHI’s impact. Hear from Cynthia Keenan, Vice President of Operations at NEHI. ⬇️ #SkillsBasedVolunteeringt #AffordableHousing #CorporateSocialResponsibility

Today, I had the great pleasure of volunteering with Common Impact as a part of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations at Fidelity Investments. My volunteer team virtually supported the development of an adjustable cash flow model to help support the Colorado Latino Leadership, Advocacy & Research Organization (CLLARO). CLLARO focuses on empowering Latinos through leadership development, advocacy and research to strengthen Colorado. What an amazing 3 months. I am definitely not complaining but as a small business with lots going on there are definitely things you have on your list but don't manage to get to. So when we recently got offered some help to get one of those things ticked off, I jumped at the chance (maybe with some trepidation at the start). The offer of help came from JPMorganChase who have been supporting our 'Skills for Mahi' work. As part of their funding they give you the chance to get support on a piece of work of your choosing. The support comes from a small group of their youngest and brightest stars from around the world. We picked a piece of work around our strategy and we have been meeting weekly over the last 3 months with a team from Hong Kong and Shanghai. This work has been: ➡ Confronting - they asked a lot of questions about what and why we did things ➡ Exciting - I am seeing lots of possibilities for our future ➡ Humbling - the fact that we have been helped to do this piece of work by a group of people that have super busy day jobs is very humbling. There is a lot to do but lots of opportunity for me, our Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce team, and the business community. Thanks so so much to the team at JPMorganChase including Jing Nie, Jenny Ngai 魏桢文, CFA,FRM, Brian Lam, Ako Nishi, and Chaoping Z. Also a big shout out to Ann Fulton from Common Impact who has been guiding us all through this journey. Thanks to Darryn Gray, Jussi Luukkonen, Megan Kibblewhite, Annette Wasson, Yvette Hellyer, Mike Hines and Joanna Newlove for giving up some of your time to help with this work. Your contribution has been so valuable. #HuttValley
