Yesterday was World Beast Cancer Research Day. Despite strides in research and early detection, disparities in screening, care, treatment and outcomes remain higher for Black women and other women of color. Olympic and Paralympic athletes have access to a range of free health care services during their stay at the Olympic village. Compared to when American athletes come home, they will have to pay out of pocket cost for each doctor’s visit.
