"We want to hold each other accountable to succeed as a core group." ~Gray Middle School Student As part of our FREE253 Initiative, the FREE YA MIND leadership group for young men has launched at Gray Middle School. Each session begins with an action or word of the day to guide discussion. On Wednesday, they focused on establishing meeting "norms" and explored the concept of "self-control," discussing personal definitions, strategies for managing it, and the consequences of not doing so. #FREE253 #FREEYAMIND #CISofTacoma #BEINGPRESENTMATTERS #AllinforKids

Leaders of Change is a Leadership/SEL group at Fern Hill Elementary. It allows students to build their leadership and social-emotional skills. In sessions, they engage in productive social activities, talk about school initiatives, discuss SEL concepts, and sometimes enjoy a snack. The selected kids will take on leadership roles in the school. Our goal is also for students to develop a growth mindset in which they expand on their social skills and model safety, respectfulness, and kindness. We want students to grow and be models for other students in the school. #CISofTacoma #allinforkids #BeingPresentMatters

What a fantastic night! We had the pleasure of hosting a hole at the Rotary Club Tacoma South fundraiser on Friday. It was a great event with amazing golfers, a wonderful program, and a ton of positive energy. All proceeds went to the Skoolie Foundation. Thank you to Harkness Furniture for hosting for over 25 years. #beingpresentmatters #allinforkids #CISofTacoma #harknessfurniture #rotaryclub

The Puyallup Tribe of Indians are taking steps to preserve their language and having tribal language added to local street signs in Tacoma is a significant and meaningful initiative. It's a powerful way to recognize and celebrate the rich history and contributions of Indigenous peoples to the community. #CISofTacoma #allinforkids #FREE253 #BeingPresentMatters

While Indigenous Peoples' Day can be a time for celebration, it's also important to remember the history of oppression and marginalization that Indigenous and Native American peoples have endured. Educating yourself and others about their culture and contributions is a powerful way to honor this day. #cisoftacoma #AllinforKids #FREE253 #educationequity
