About us

For the last 40 years, Community Affairs and Resource Center (CARC) has provided assistance to Monmouth County residents with the goal of achieving self-sufficiency within the community. CARC is a non-profit social service agency that provides a wide variety of services and programs focusing on educating, empowering the community, strengthening youth and families through advocacy and collaboration. Over the past five years we have also expanded our programs into Ocean, Atlantic and Middlesex counties. A variety of programs and services are offered by CARC, including case management, information and referrals, health care (both mental and physical), Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention, Housing/rental and utility assistance, emergency housing, lead-safe home remediation program, lead screening of children, senior program, Financial Assistance, Employment Assistance, Hispanic Women's Resource Center, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and a variety of Parent Workshops and other classes. CARC consists of a dedicated, bilingual staff of 34, and has four office locations whereof three in Monmouth County (Asbury Park, Freehold and Keyport) and one in Ocean County (Lakewood). CARC is able to assist over 8,000 people every year throughout the four counties we serve.
