🌟 A group of 100 students from all four schools came together for the first-ever Latino Empowerment Conference! 🌟 Keynote speaker Mr. Saenz, Dean at Crystal Lake Central, shared his personal journey and life experiences that led him to where he is today. The students participated in breakout sessions that connected them with important college and career resources. ✨ Thank you to all the presenters for taking the time to speak with our students! 🤝 THANK YOU! We celebrated more than 85 Industry Partners today at our district’s annual Industry Partner Breakfast. A variety of businesses have connected with our students through job shadowing and internship opportunities. We also heard from several student speakers about how internships have helped them find their passion and future career paths. ⚒ 📐 Senior Jackson Bowers’ experience in his Career and Technical Education classes at Crystal Lake South has been REWARDING, PRACTICAL and FUN!  🗣 “I've definitely learned a lot,” Bowers said. “I’m not planning to go into carpentry, but it’s definitely something I’ll use on the side. If something breaks at your house, classes like woods are something that you can use later in life. My dad is a pretty handy person, fixing up the house. He does a lot of work for himself. So, I want to try to be like that instead of spending my money. I actually have already done one or two carpentry jobs on my own time.” Bowers enrolled in Woods II because of his teacher. “I really liked Mr. Felz, he was an impactful teacher — someone that really tried to connect with the students. He made the class a lot more enjoyable, which made me want to take Woods II. I realized that doing a whole bunch of projects like that was something that I could work on freely and stress free. And it was something that I ended up being pretty good at.” #D155Inspire #MyPathtoPurpose
