CRC is a 501 C 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to integrating new immigrants in Westchester County, NY

About us

Community Resource Center (formerly Hispanic Resource Center) is a 501 (c)(3) community-based organization founded in 1998 to empower immigrant and low-income families by providing the resources and advocacy to help them become self-reliant and thriving members of the community. Over our 23 years in existence, we have grown from a community initiative and referral organization to one that provides comprehensive direct client services and programs. We provide a myriad of educational programs, case management and referral services and advocate for immigrants and low-income families in need. In the past year, we served nearly 4,000 adults, youth, and children in three primary areas: Case management / social services; Educational programs and workshops; and Worker Center -job placement for men and women seeking employment. Our vision is to help Westchester become a community that embraces diversity and provides opportunities for all of its residents.

  • As we reach the midpoint of Hispanic Heritage Month and gear up for the 2024 election, it's crucial to highlight the issue of voter misinformation targeting Latino and Hispanic communities. While social media can be a powerful tool for good, it also has its pitfalls. One significant concern is the need for fact-checking in Spanish-language media compared to English sources. This gap is an important issue, as it allows misinformation to spread unchecked, making our communities more vulnerable to false narratives. Let’s stay informed and vigilant! Check out the link below to learn more about this critical issue.

Last Wednesday, Burt reached out to our case managers for help after a particularly challenging work week, during which he wasn’t paid and also needed to replace his bike. Within just two days, our Board Member Ian Rhodes stepped in and generously donated a bike to this long-time community member. Burt has affectionately named it "Grease Lightning." We are thrilled to see him equipped with the means to travel to work, attend appointments with his case managers, and connect with other essential providers. #makingadifference

  • Thank You for Making a Difference! We are thrilled to share these photos of the kids joyfully receiving their school backpacks. Our sincere thanks go to Larchmont Temple and the individual donors whose generosity made this possible. • We are thrilled to invite you to our Annual Gala on November 13th at the Glen Island Harbour Club, where we'll roll out the red carpet for an unforgettable evening! This celebration holds special meaning as we eagerly approach our grand reopening, symbolizing the CRC's enduring role as a second home for many in our community. While we've been temporarily displaced from our cherished space at 134 Center Avenue, our dedication to providing essential programs and services has remained steadfast. Though we deeply miss our home, we are excited to be closer than ever to returning and restoring the vibrant heart of our community. We would be honored to have you join us on this exciting journey as we work to create a new and improved Center—a place where our community can continue to connect, learn, and grow together. We look forward to celebrating with you at the Gala! Roll Out the Red Carpet: https://lnkd.in/gewMTKaZ
