About us

Independently owned daily newspaper serving the communities of the Capital Region in central New Hampshire. The Concord Monitor was founded as a daily in 1864, but the paper traces its lineage back to the weekly New Hampshire Patriot, founded in 1809 by noted New Hampshire publisher Isaac Hill, who had purchased the American Patriot, which started in 1808. Former Concord Monitor photographer Preston Gannaway won Pulitzer for Feature Photography in 2008. Associated publications include The Concord Insider, LiveWell, At Home NH, Green Guide NH and ConcordMonitor.com.
