Thank you, Dominique Wells, for this insightful recap of day one at RISE West. A powerful keynote was led by Heather Penney, who shared that we can all be “everyday heroes” by seizing opportunities to act instead of waiting for perfection.
Day one RISE West recap: A powerful keynote remembering the bravery and devastation of 9/11. Thank you Heather Penney for sharing your story. Heather shared a key thought that most can relate to. We spend time preparing for crisis situations by creating checklists, processes, and alerts to minimize risk. While that work is important, we cannot allow that to get in the way of making things happen in the moment. In her words take every opportunity to “be an everyday hero”. One of the mottos our team at Conduit Health Partners lives by, is don’t let great get in the way of good enough. A step in the right direction is better than sitting idle. A beautiful reflection of the many 9/11 heroes and a room filled with an immense desire to return to the days following 9/11 where our country came together in solidarity. She reminded us to make a difference, not in spite of our differences but through our differences. Energized for the start of day two.
