We save land. We save rivers.
About us
We improve the health of our communities by preserving and restoring natural areas and open space, protecting rivers and watersheds, and promoting stewardship of our environment. The support of more than 5,000 members and 500 volunteers helps us carry out our mission. We focus our work in DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will Counties where we have helped preserve more than 35,000 acres of open space, and we also go where we are needed in LaSalle, DeKalb and Grundy Counties.

We loved hosting the DuPage County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Advisory Committee here at McDonald Farm last week. Learn more about the event and the moving speakers below!
Regina Brent and I would like to thank The Conservation Foundation for hosting our DuPage County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Advisory Committee event featuring Joseph “Standing Bear” Schranz, President of Midwest Soarring Foundation, Christina Shutt, Executive Director Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, as well as Angel Starr Fox Way Native American Foods and Catering. TCF Brook McDonald started us off with the Land Acknowledgment Statement which was followed by Joseph discussions of indigenous people and the relevance of the number 7 in native cultures. Christina gave an in-depth presentation about Dr. King and his views that we first must understand what happened to indigenous people in America before we can overcome the challenges of today’s race relations. Angel provided a Native American dinner that was enjoyed by all.

Loaves & Fishes Community Services helps provide food and support to struggling families in our communities, and we're proud to be able to partner with them and provide delicious, organic veggies to local families!
We are thrilled to highlight our partnership with The Conservation Foundation. Each week, the Loaves & Fishes team picks up a beautiful assortment of fresh, organic produce from the Conservation Foundation's Green Earth Harvest program to distribute to food-insecure families in Will County, ensuring that it typically reaches a family's hands within 24 hours of harvest. Thanks to this collaboration, we're providing nutritious food and helping transform lives together. 🌱🤝 A special thank you to the Conservation Foundation's Jennifer Hammer, VP of Land & Watershed Protection, and Sheryl Fasone, Green Earth Harvest Business Manager, for visiting us at our Aurora Hub earlier this month! #FreshVeggies #EndingHunger #TransformingLives #TeamWorkMakestheDreamWork
