And that’s a wrap on year 4 of ConstructDiversity! Earlier this month, we celebrated our young scholars at the Showare Center in Kent, Wa. The event featured inspiring speeches from program alumni, current students, school administrators, and host companies. We’re excited to start recruiting for next year’s cohort. This year’s group set a high standard, and while it will be tough to surpass, we’re committed to giving it our all. 📈 April marks National Financial Literacy Month! We just wrapped up our latest curriculum session with Harry Johnson from AGP Wealth Advisors. Harry emphasized the significance of cultivating a healthy relationship with money beyond just earning it. He delved into managing, multiplying, and maintaining wealth, covering vital concepts like assets vs. liabilities, compound interest, the rule of 72, and the importance of writing their goals out on paper. Huge thanks to Mr. Johnson for sharing his expertise each year! Last week we had a surprise visit from CD graduate Precious Reed. He recently completed US Navy Bootcamp and is now an ABE. He shared what life in the military is like and his goal of becoming an electrician, purchasing his first home and getting his dream car. We commend Jeremiah, a past participant in our program, for successfully completing his cohort with the PACT. Yesterday, they concluded the cohort with a speed networking event involving various companies and apprenticeship programs.
