About us

The Grand Rapids Chapter of CSI (Construction Specifications Institute) is a chapter within the national association dedicated to improving the documentation, management and communication of building information as used by the construction community. CSI accomplishes its mission through the development of construction standards and formats such as MasterFormat and UniFormat; the promulgation of those formats through master guide specifications and building information management (BIM) software; training and certification programs, including the Construction Documents Technology (CDT) and Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) exams; publication of Construction Specifier magazine; and an ever-expanding membership of decision-makers who identify and specify building product solutions. CSI members include a cross-section of specifiers, architects, contractors, suppliers and other construction project professionals who are touched by construction documentation.

  • Member features! CSI-Grand Rapids is starting to share member profiles from those who would like others to know them better and their services or just career updates. This was a regular feature in our newsletters and worth bringing back but to the LinkedIn platform. If you would like this, visit the CSI Grand Rapids website and go to the Contact tab. We're going to start this off with our current Chapter President, Brad Hayden: Hi Everyone, I hope that you all had a great end to 2024 and are looking forward to an even better 2025! As we move into the new year, I thought that it might be a good idea formally introduce (reintroduce) myself and let all of our membership & following know how much we appreciate them and their contributions to the CSI Grand Rapids Chapter. Without you all, none of what we do is possible.  Although I am already over halfway through my term as President of this chapter, I wanted to say thank you for the opportunity to serve on the board for CSI Grand Rapids. I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to the other members of the board as they put so much work into making this chapter the awesome place that it is to network and collaborate for our members. I have worked for Tremco Construction Products Group as a Field Advisor in the Roofing & Building Maintenance Division since March 2014. My family and I live in the Caledonia area. My wife and I have 2 beautiful children, 2 golden retrievers, and 2 cats which makes our house feel full at all times.  The thing that I value most about CSI is that it provides me with the opportunity to meet and collaborate with new people within the construction industry who I work alongside every day. The education and learning opportunities that this organization has provided to me has also allowed me to expand my knowledge and understanding of construction which has benefited in too many ways to count in my day-to-day career. I look forward to continuing to meet and grow alongside you all in 2025 and please don’t hesitate to say hello at any upcoming meetings/events.
