Associate Vice President for Institutional Equity, Accessibility, and Belonging and Title IX Coordinator at Yale University
For the past few years at Yale, a group of dedicated and thoughtful colleagues has been building our work around restorative practices and community dialogue. This work is challenging, meaningful, and I believe presents a way forward as we think about both building community and resolving conflict. As part of that commitment, we have a new professional opportunity, Associate Director of Community Dialogue. Please help us to spread the word to your networks - this is an incredible opportunity to be part of a new and growing group of colleagues at Yale! The Associate Director will collaborate with campus partners to build a living, learning and work environment where students, faculty and staff can skillfully engage in constructive dialogue across difference. They will introduce resources, tools, programs, and practices to promote a positive campus culture of open inquiry and to cultivate the conditions for thoughtful individual, intragroup and intergroup discourse across identities, power differentials and viewpoints. Through training, education and skill development, the Associate Director will enhance the campus community’s capacity to hold rich, respectful, and, at times, difficult conversations. Reporting jointly to the Director of Restorative Practices and to the Chief of Staff to the Secretary and Vice President for University Life, the Associate Director will lead trainings and facilitate processes to cultivate community, encourage and support constructive dialogue and respond restoratively to a broad range of campus conflict and harm. https://lnkd.in/eiSs9dct
