About us

COOP is working to build a diverse movement of upwardly mobile first-gen college grads overcoming underemployment through digital skills and peer connections. We want to reignite our nation’s promise of upward mobility for those who strive to achieve a brighter future for themselves and their families—to ensure the American Dream is a reality for all. We will ensure that first-generation and low-income college grads make the connections they need for the careers they deserve. Across our sites in New York City, San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami, we’ve launched 300+ cohorts since 2014, welcoming almost 4,000 alumni in our first eight years. Eighty percent of alumni overcome underemployment within a year, earning an average of $50,000 per year and almost $75,000 after five years. COOP aims to reach 10,000 alumni in our first decade, fueling upward mobility and fulfilling the promise of higher education. Join us at coopcareers.org.

    🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 This post may be a bit overdue, but I still want to take a moment to document this milestone. Recently (two weeks ago), I started a new role as a Client Solutions Analyst at Kepler. 🌟 The past two weeks have been incredible! My team has been nothing but welcoming and supportive throughout my onboarding, and I’m genuinely grateful for their guidance. Reflecting on the past year, I can’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. I dedicated countless hours and a lot of effort into reaching this point, and it’s surreal to finally achieve my goal of working in this industry. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and how much I’m willing to keep pushing forward. I also want to give a special thanks to my mentor Joey Longia, whose words of encouragement and support helped me stay motivated on this path. Additionally, I want to extend my gratitude to Justin Roberts and Kejsi Teneqexhiu for sharing some of the best career advice I’ve received. I’m incredibly thankful for the support and invaluable learning experiences from both COOP and Kepler Academy—this journey has been nothing short of life-changing! Our NYC financial services fellows gained valuable insights into the job application process and received qualitative feedback on their interviewing skills.
