    𝟮𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻! I just got an email from LinkedIn congratulating me on using this platform for 20 YEARS! First of all, that makes me feel a bit old!  But it also gave me the opportunity to think about why I joined LinkedIn and the changes over the years. In 2004, I had just gotten into recruiting full-time and we were still using fax machines and newspaper ads (at least partly) to connect with potential candidates.   Expanding your network and figuring out who to talk to was hard. But the idea of a business-focused community online made a lot of sense, for recruiting, for B2B sales and just for communicating with people in your industry.  When I joined there were a bit over 100,000 users and in 2024 LinkedIn has surpassed the 1 Billion user mark - that is a 10,000 fold increase! I really appreciate all the people that I have worked with and met over the years on LinkedIn (and IRL) that are here and participating in this community.
