Cord Blood Association reposted this
““For over 15 years I’ve always been proud of saying that I work at Anthony Nolan.” To recognise Blood Cancer Awareness Month, we would like to introduce you to Dr. Irina Evseeva – Head of Specialist Services within the Donor and Transplant division. "My role at Anthony Nolan mainly includes operational management, but is closely linked to clinical and research areas – helping to improve our services, so that we can find the right graft for all patients in need of cell therapy treatment.” Irina and her team are responsible for identifying, testing, and piloting new initiatives, aiming to improve the time to transplant, and promoting best practice. Once projects show successful results, they can be implemented into the relevant team’s work, to improve outcomes for patients receiving transplants. Dr. Evseeva, who came from a medical doctor background and academic research, moved into specialist services to get closer to the clinical work. “Anthony Nolan has always been a pioneer in the transplant community, but over the last 15 years our image as a strong and successful leader has grown a lot. We have one of the best Cord Blood Banks in the world, and our Cell and Gene Therapy work is truly groundbreaking.” With people like Irina driving Anthony Nolan’s input towards patient treatment forward, we’re moving closer to a future where we can be sure that each patient has the efficient and successful treatment option. “I one day hope to see Anthony Nolan having a dedicated hospital where the most modern and brave solutions would be tested and implemented to allow all patients to have successful treatment.” #50YearsOfHope
