💡 The Power of Reflection and Collaboration in Math Instruction 💡 In teaching, it’s easy to overlook the misconceptions students—and even teachers—can hold around core concepts. By creating a space where educators can collaborate and reflect on their understanding, we unlock a key to more effective teaching. Active learning classrooms are designed not just for students to engage in problem-solving but for teachers to engage in ongoing improvement. Conversations with fellow educators and coaches can shed light on these gaps and help equip teachers with new strategies for fostering deeper learning in their students. Whether you’re reflecting on instructional practices or collaborating to find new approaches, remember continuous improvement is the path to a more engaged and successful math classroom. 🚀 #MathEducation #ActiveLearning #InstructionalCoaching #TeacherDevelopment #CollaborativeTeaching #CORELearning #StudentSuccess

Over 30 states have enacted “science of reading” laws in the past five years, marking a pivotal shift in literacy education. These new laws move away from traditional balanced literacy methods, which research shows often fall short, particularly for historically underserved students. ⚖️🌟 So, what’s the solution? The answer lies in Structured Literacy, a research-backed approach grounded in the science of reading. This method has proven to significantly improve student outcomes, especially among underserved populations. By emphasizing the connection between oral and written language, Structured Literacy provides a more equitable foundation for literacy education. Educators, now is your chance to be part of this transformative movement. While progress has been made, there’s still work to be done to ensure Structured Literacy reaches every classroom nationwide. By understanding and advocating for these evidence-based practices, you can play a vital role in this shift, ensuring every student receives the high-quality education they deserve. Explore the road ahead in our blog post, “Read Act Revolution: Why High-Quality ELA Instructional Materials Are Necessary to Implement the Science of Reading.” Discover actionable recommendations for guiding this transition and empowering yourself to make a difference. 📖👩🏽🏫💫 https://hubs.la/Q02PcN_w0 #ScienceOfReading #StructuredLiteracy #EducationReform #EquitableEducation #LiteracyMatters #EvidenceBasedPractice #EdChat #ReadingInstruction

One Learning Community celebrates CORE Learning's new Online Language & Literacy Academy (OL&LA) as they reach their 20,000 educator mark within months of initial launch. Having partnered to help with the design, development, and deployment of the innovative new CORE Academy platform to distribute this program nationally, we are happy to reference early data showing that the work of ensuring ALL students receive thoughtful, research-based reading instruction is a challenge being taken up by ALL educators PreK - 12, across all disciplines. It will take effective professional development, innovative technology, and more importantly the commitment of all educators to move the needle on literacy. We are proud to put our shoulder and product behind this work! (Resulting graphs show the spread of educators by grade and subject area enrolled in CORE Learning's OL&LA program)
