This summer, I had the privilege of working as a Research and Development Intern at Core4ce. I worked with a small group of pre-college interns on the "Strawberry Moon" team to prototype Cyberscape, a cyber threat investigation platform. We created a mock-up with the Figma wireframe tool, adding updated accessibility features, administration roles, user profiling details, and more to Cyberscape. Our prototype will assist Core4ce's programmers and software engineers in the developmental phase of the application. I also learned MATLAB programming with various MathWorks online courses as a personal project throughout the internship. These courses taught me foundational commands, matrix manipulation, data visualization, and many other MATLAB skills. It was an eye-opening experience to apply my knowledge of computer science, prototyping, and programming from academics to a real-world setting, building on long-term projects. Last week, I had the opportunity to share these projects and insights with the Core4ce community at our Summer Intern Event! I owe a big thank you to David Bock and Rodney Snyder for supporting me on this journey, both in and out of the classroom, for the past two years! Thank you to James Bui for your guidance through our Cyberscape project, and Mike Morehouse and Todd Harbour for welcoming me to the Core4ce family with open arms! I am forever grateful to everyone involved and can't wait to see where this leads! #programming #cybersecurity #internship

ICYMI: Core4ce Chief Scientist Dr. Curtis Arnold recently discussed the evolution of #ZeroTrust principles in a military context with Help Net Security. “The military will continue to evolve into a zero trust, data-centric environment. The zero trust principles force mission owners and capability providers to think about data and access it differently," said Arnold. "From a Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) perspective, it highlights that data must be protected from all aspects and all directions instead of just at the border.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/dESvsERB

In a recent Help Net Security interview, Core4ce Chief Scientist Dr. Curtis Arnold discussed the starting points for military training in #ZeroTrust principles, emphasizing foundational technologies and a unified taxonomy. “Zero trust is more about having a data mindset than implementing a specific tool or technology. The primary data elements, such as authentication logs or device health, will be the same among the various technical solutions. A focus on training in those data sets will allow individuals to better support zero trust across multiple environments,” said Arnold. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dESvsERB
