Through its normalization process and efforts, CoreCivic is implementing trauma-informed colors in its facilities across the country. A color palette, which was designed by architects informed on correctional spaces, is helping CoreCivic facilities incorporate colors to match and flow with the geographical regions in which the facilities are located. Congratulations to Daren Swenson, CoreCivic Vice President, Core Services, for being the first-ever recipient of an award from the ARrow Center for Justice Reform for his efforts in enhancing human dignity for all those impacted by the justice system - specifically corrections staff, residents, their families, and communities. The ARrow Center for Justice Reform is a non-profit that works to promote a criminal justice system that balances accountability with rehabilitation and harm reduction, respecting the dignity and rights of victims, perpetrators, and those in the correctional system.
