Our patients were the guests of honor at a recent West Michigan Whitecaps game. Dr. Fitzgerald, President of Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, led the charge onto the field and made sure the children and families had a memorable experience.

I had the honor of catching the first pitches thrown by some of our Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children's Hospital patients during Kids Can Conquer Night with the West Michigan Whitecaps. The kids also had the opportunity to autograph baseball cards, help on the field, meet the team and more. It was a beautiful night where kids who’ve been through so much could just enjoy themselves and be kids again.

As part of the Storehouse of Community Resources Big Backpack Build, Corewell Health and Amplify GR volunteers helped fill 10,000 backpacks with brand-new school supplies for students in Kent County, which includes new backpacks for every student at Buchanon Elementary School in the Boston Square neighborhood! We are equally excited to collaborate with AmplifyGR on an exciting new project - the Corewell Health Center for Wellness - Boston Square. This new location is expected to open this winter inside the new HUB07 building and will include primary care, women’s health, lifestyle medicine, community classes and more. “I’m excited and grateful to be one of the providers at this new center in the Boston Square community. Being born and raised in the area, it’s a privilege to be able to give back to the community that I live in and love,” said Quiana Scott-Ruffin, Nurse Practitioner, Corewell Health. “This partnership and this location allow us to bring our values to life and design the center to meet the needs of the neighborhood and our community.”

For the fourth time, Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital has achieved Magnet designation, the highest and most prestigious distinction a health care organization can receive for nursing practice and quality patient care. Fewer than 10% of hospitals/facilities in the nation have achieved this designation and Corewell Health can proudly say we have the most hospitals in the state that have earned this status!
