This year’s CoServ Charitable Foundation (CCF) Golf Tournament raised a record-breaking $85,000. The tournament featured 180 golfers from 45 teams competing for a good cause at the Wildwood Golf Course in Denton. Every cent raised goes to the CCF Unrestricted Fund, which supports nonprofit organizations outside CoServ’s territory. After 23 years of serving, longtime District 2 Director Leon Pelzel has retired from our Board of Directors. The Pilot Point native helped make decisions at CoServ over the last 20 years that will reverberate for decades – including forming the CoServ Charitable Foundation and growing CoServ Gas into the fifth-largest gas utility in Texas. “Being close to the people who actually got CoServ off the ground and brought electricity to rural areas – it was a big deal and it has been a privilege to continue building on the foundation that they laid,” said Leon. Last week, we attended the Excavation Safety Day event in Plano, hosted by the Damage Prevention Council of Texas and Texas811. Digging safely isn’t just about following regulations—it’s about protecting lives, property and the environment. It was inspiring to see so many industry professionals and the public come together to share knowledge and reaffirm our commitment to safety.
