A key component of aging well is staying engaged. That’s why each Coterie community has a Resident Engagement Director (RED) and a team focused on impactful and meaningful programming. Meet Jasmin and Melissa! Jasmin, the RED at Cathedral Hill, shares one of her favorite parts of the role: “I love being able to learn from residents. Whether it’s about their travels, careers, hobbies, or the many experiences they’ve had, I always learn something new.” On the other side of the country, Melissa, the RED at Hudson Yards, says the most rewarding part of her job is “seeing the joy on residents' faces when they come to an event and thoroughly immerse themselves in the experience.” Thank you, Jasmin and Melissa, for all the joy you bring to our communities.

“It’s invigorating to see how the food we serve our residents positively affects their health,” shares Jonathan, a Cook at Coterie Hudson Yards Having worked in the culinary space for 12 years, he feels at home in the kitchen and is working toward being a Chef at Hudson Yards. Outside of working in the kitchen, he says one of the best parts of his job is the amazing view of the city. Going for the Gold! Our communities kicked off the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics with fabulous French cuisine and lots of team spirit! Residents loved this year's opening ceremony and enjoyed watching it together. Coterie Cathedral Hill even got in on the action by competing in golf, ping-pong, bocce ball and cornhole.

“Food had power. It could inspire, astonish, shock, excite, delight and impress. It had the power to please me...and others.” This quote from the late Anthony Bourdain resonates with Jasmine, Chef De Cuisine at Coterie Cathedral Hill. She believes in cooking with intention, creating pleasant and memorable moments. “I believe that food prepared with loving energy will be absorbed and elevated by the individuals eating the food,” she shared. One of Jasmine’s favorite parts of working at Cathedral Hill is her interactions with residents. “I love seeing when residents are satisfied and thank our cooks for their hard work. They’ll hold hand hearts up to the kitchen window. This leaves such an impression and smiles for us all.” Happy #CulinaryArtsMonth, Chef! We’re grateful for you.

“I try to take a class every day,” said Tom, a Coterie Hudson Yards resident. “My muscle strength, endurance and balance have all improved since I started.” Wellness plays a leading role at our communities, with regular programs designed to keep our residents active and moving. “I enjoy all the classes. The variety of approaches by the trainers is stimulating and I like having the exercise program to start my day,” shared Tom.
