In today’s #CSTE Stories from the Field, Eliza Ramsey and Dr. Anne Zink share their experiences working together at the Alaska Department of Health as part of CSTE’s Applied Public Health Informatics Fellowship (APHIF) program. The APHIF program provides on-the-job training in public health informatics at state and local health departments for recent graduates and early career professionals. During Ramsey’s fellowship, she’s worked on improving how the department’s public health data systems meet their needs, as well as “how to get better data in the first place,” as she puts it. #CSTE recently joined with the Centers for Health, Work & Environment (CHWE) and the Mountain & Plains Education and Research Center (MAP ERC) at the Colorado School of Public Health to host the annual Western States Occupational Network (WestON) meeting.
