Building a healthier Central America through community-centered safe water solutions.
About us
Cova (formerly EOS International) is a nonprofit social enterprise building a healthier Central America through community-centered, safe water solutions. Through Cova’s innovative market-based Circuit Rider Model, rural communities in Central America have access to safe drinking water, creating economic opportunities for individuals, allowing children to stay in school, parents to continue working, and communities to thrive. Cova’s comprehensive model provides safe drinking water to over a million people across rural communities in Nicaragua, Honduras, and El Salvador.

We are so pleased to partner with Aquaya to lead a scoping study assessing the potential effectiveness of our Circuit Rider model and passive chlorination in new markets. The #REALWater research program seeks to inform best practices for water management, and we are keen to work collaboratively to provide valuable insights for service providers globally.
#REALWater gains a new consortium member, Cova Agua, who will lead a scoping study on passive chlorination in El Salvador and Guatemala. This study explores collaboration and research opportunities with government agencies and local researchers. Based on the results of the scoping study, REAL-Water will consider field research on key questions related to scaling up passive chlorination. #Rural | #WASH | #Research | USAID Global Waters | USAID | Aguaconsult Ltd. | The Johns Hopkins University | Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi | RWSN - Rural Water Supply Network | Safe Water Network | University of Technology Sydney | Water Mission | Water, Environment, Land and Livelihoods (WELL) Labs | Hydroconseil

We are pleased to have received funding to partner with Aquaya and several other leading WASH partners on the USAID REAL-Water research program that seeks to inform best practices for water management. Our first step is a scoping study to assess the potential effectiveness of our Circuit Rider model in new markets. Our team recently visited Guatemala and will be returning to El Salvador to identify the needs, resources, and effectiveness of water management initiatives in rural areas and indicators for the potential success of our Circuit Rider & chlorination initiatives. These efforts will help pave the way for expansion and future REAL Water initiatives and provide valuable insights to professional service providers globally.
