Healthier Outcomes for Colorado's Pregnant & Postpartum People, Infants and Families.
About us
The Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC) is a statewide nonprofit network of hospitals, healthcare facilities, clinicians and public health professionals that improves the health of women and infants through continuous quality improvement. Our vision is that EVERY woman, infant and their family in Colorado will have access to and receive the highest level of perinatal care through data-driven, evidence based practices that achieve the best health outcomes. We have linked efforts with the Colorado Hospital Association, the Colorado Department of Health and Public Environment, the Center for Disease Control, the Vermont Oxford Network and the March of Dimes to improve outcomes for Colorado’s mothers and babies throughout our state. We invite individuals, agencies, and hospitals to join us in our efforts to improve access to best practice care for all women and infants in Colorado. We want Colorado to be the best place to give birth or be born!

Did you know that one in five birthing individuals in the U.S. faces mental health challenges? On this World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that even one is too many. Thanks to the collective efforts of our community, the Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC) is making significant strides to address these challenges. This year, we secured a historic $1.3 million investment in healthier births for all Coloradans through the Improving Perinatal Health Outcomes Act (SB 24-175). Let’s raise awareness for perinatal mental health and ensure that more mothers and birthing individuals receive the support they need. #WorldMentalHealthDay #PerinatalHealth #CPCQC #MentalHealthMatters

Day 1 of Our Colorado Tour: Grand Junction Yesterday, Jamie and I kicked off our seven-day tour across Colorado, starting in Grand Junction. Getting to see Vanessa and Susann was a bonus! We partnered with Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative - CPCQC and the Moms Plus Program as part of The Naloxone Project, visiting St. Mary’s Hospital to tour their labor and delivery spaces. The trauma-informed care and leadership there were truly inspiring, offering moms and babies the compassionate care they deserve. We left feeling refreshed and encouraged by the incredible work being done at St. Mary’s. We also made a stop at Canyon View Women’s Clinic inside Community Hospital, where Operation CARE by HardBeauty is already embedded, providing crucial support for moms in recovery. Susann is our peer recovery coach and serves as the perinatal navigator for Mesa County through CPCQC. I’m so proud of the work HardBeauty is doing in this region, and I look forward to bringing Operation CARE to more Intermountain Hospitals across Colorado. We’re just getting started! Next Stop Alamosa! #MamasRecovers #HardBeauty #RiseUpWesternSlope #MesaCounty

Exciting news from CPCQC! Our Cesarean reduction program, SOAR, has successfully facilitated 4 labor support workshops, designed specifically for doulas, nurses, midwives, family medicine physicians, and obstetricians. These free workshops delve into the current landscape of Cesarean births in America, emphasizing respectful and equitable care in the birthing space. Participants engage in hands-on practice to enhance their skills in labor support, pain management, and positioning to promote safe vaginal births. Together, we’re making a difference in how we support families during labor!
