  • Portfolio tip‼️ Your final, finished project is excellent and we want to see it... but we *need* context. Creative Circle recruiters Joshua Francois and Sasha Walker are seeing several candidate portfolios with interesting and well-done visuals, but they're lacking important supporting details. "We love a glossy image, but it can't do the talking for you," says Joshua. "Leave no room for questioning what part of the project you worked on." You likely won't be present when the client is scrolling through your portfolio, so make sure you provide details on your concepts and ideas right on the page with your visuals. And, share if this is entirely your work or a collaboration — include the role you played in the project specifically. "If you have tons of research and sketch work to show for a project in your portfolio, consider linking out to it separately so your main page doesn't become overpopulated with text," Sasha says. This way, if a hiring manager wants to dive into the details of your process, they have access to it without spending additional time asking for it in a follow-up. JOB SCAM RED FLAGS: 1. You receive an unsolicited direct message, text message, or email. 2. The email domain doesn’t match the name of the company outlined in the email. 3. The job offer is time-sensitive. 4. The majority of communication is on a chat app. 5. The hiring manager requests payment or banking information. Stay vigilant!
