    The caregiver of a surgical patient recently sent me a note praising the compassionate care provided by Paul “PJ” Jones, patient transporter at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.   Hours after PJ completed the patient’s initial transport following surgery, they received a knock on the door. The caregiver wrote, “It was PJ getting ready to go home for the day. He had come back to check on how my husband was doing! Talk about making our day. He showed he cared about the patients he transported. His caring, compassionate and infectious smile is what we remember most about my husband’s hospital stay. I also heard him knocking on the other doors checking on them too!”   It's dedicated team members like PJ who strive to ensure every patient of Novant Health has a remarkable experience. PJ was honored with a #RemarkableLight celebration last week led by Roxie Wells, MD, DABFM, along with the patient experience team and Forsyth Medical Center leaders in recognition of his inspiring commitment. Thank you to PJ and all of our Novant Health team members who embody Our Cause to create a healthier future and bring remarkable experiences to life.

    This October marks the beginning of #CompassOneSocktober2024, our fourth annual sock donation campaign! 🧦 As we prepare for another impactful year, we want to reflect on the incredible success of this initiative. Socks are the most requested item in shelters by men, women, and children, yet the least donated. Since 2021, our teams have stepped up and donated over 310,000 new socks to shelters nationwide.
