Did anyone else notice the Chat GPT outage today? It made us reflect on how our increasing reliance on AI technology equates to an increasing dependence on and demand for electricity. Although today's outage was likely not electricity-related, we might soon face a situation where the power demand exceeds our ability to generate and distribute it. According to a report by the International Energy Agency, global electricity demand is expected to grow by 2.1% per year until 2040, driven by the rise of AI, cryptocurrency, and traditional data centers. For instance, the power consumption of global data centers is predicted to increase by 3-5% per year, potentially consuming up to 8% of the world's electricity by 2030 (source: International Energy Agency). At the same time, we need to create new, sustainable ways to generate all the power we're going to need. At Crown, we're ready to be part of the solution. We've been providing equipment to help make the power grid safe, smart, dependable, secure, and renewable for almost three decades. As the world heads into a new era of information exchange and delivery, it's exciting to know that our work will play a big part in revolutionizing education, business, medicine, and so much more. We live in extraordinary times, and the future is bright as long as we all work together to make it that way. #AI #EnergyDemand #PowerGrid #CrownTechnicalSystems #Innovation #Sustainability

The global data center market is booming, driven by the increasing demand for data processing and storage, particularly for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Data centers are expected to grow significantly, with global market revenue projected to reach $450 billion by 2027. This growth is fueled by the rise of AI, which demands more computational power and higher load capacities for data center racks Crown has been playing a key role in this rapid expansion, particularly in Santa Clara, California. In collaboration with Silicon Valley Power, we’ve delivered advanced control enclosures for both the utility and data center sides of several significant projects.
