MEET OUR TEAM! Welcome Steve! We are so lucky to have you join the team and serve our North American guests! HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE TRAVEL INDUSTRY? HOW AND WHY DID YOU GET STARTED? I’ve had a passion for travel since high school. I attended travel school in 1988 and didn’t get into the industry until landing a Reservations position at Holland America in 2002. I figured I really enjoyed the service industry as well so why not do both?! WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE DESTINATION AND WHY? Europe. Norway and Italy. Both because of the history, beauty and the people. Both were amazing destinations. WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU WHEN TRAVELLING? Not offending locals and learning whatever I can and creating memories. I want to “live like the locals do” but also want to do a bit of the “tourist” stuff as well. WHAT IS NEXT ON YOUR TRAVEL BUCKET LIST? I hope to explore Galapagos, British Isles and Italy again (spend more time there). WHAT'S THE MOST ADVENTUROUS THING YOU'VE EVER DONE WHILE TRAVELING? I’m self-admittedly not the most adventurous person! Probably horseback riding in the ocean in the Bahamas that was adventurous for me 😊 WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER ONE TRAVEL TIP ANYONE NEEDS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN PLANNING THEIR NEXT EXPEDITION? Make sure you pack well and just take the trip as it comes. Some things are meant to be planned and some things aren’t. Not over planning tends to create more genuine and memorable experiences. That’s part of the “journey.”
