Crusader Community Health is a community based, non-profit community health center founded in 1972 to serve the Rock River Valley area with quality primary health care for all people in need. Crusader provides healthcare for all, regardless of their ability to pay, as we eliminate disparities in healthcare. Crusader Community Health providers are board certified or board eligible in their primary care specialties. This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).

CONGRATULATIONS! Terry White, Chief Strategic & Operations Officer at Crusader Community Health, was recognized Friday with the George M. O’Neill Leadership Award, one of the Illinois Primary Health Care Association's distinguished 2024 Awards of Excellence. The recipient of this award is a visionary who empowers and inspires their employees every day. Terry’s extensive professional history in hospital operations started at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford. He held leadership roles at hospitals in Decatur and Sterling before returning to Rockford where he spent more than 19 years at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He has also worked as a consultant, served on countless boards, and taught graduate courses in health care administration. He officially started his role at Crusader in 2013, however he worked as a consultant, sharing wisdom and expertise prior to then. Congratulations, Terry!

ROCKFORD PROMISE: ROCKFORD PROMISE scholars – recent RPS 205 graduates who attend Rock Valley College, Rockford University or Northern Illinois University with a Rockford Promise Scholarship – toured Crusader’s West State clinic last week. The event, called Promising Careers, allowed these future nurses, physicians, psychologists and medical professionals to spend the day learning about health care careers and employment opportunities in the region.
