**Team CSG Spotlight: Keri Johnson** Keri has dedicated her career to helping state agencies improve their operations and IT systems to best serve children and families. Starting as a social service worker with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Keri’s passion for helping people was demonstrated through her commitment to connecting individuals and families with the economic and healthcare support services they needed to live healthy and productive lives. She held multiple roles with the department before advancing to the IT Business Systems Analyst Manager role in 2018. In this role, Keri led a team of business analysts responsible for completing the functional designs for the eligibility and enrollment solution as the State prepared for Medicaid expansion. Since joining CSG in 2022, Keri has managed a portfolio of engagements for the Virginia Department of Education, including working on systems for child care and teacher licensing, subsidy attendance, and teacher and student assessment. She collaborates with stakeholders across the Commonwealth to provide leadership and expertise for these concurrent projects, including establishing project visions, supporting procurement, and navigating obstacles to help achieve program goals. Keri is adept at working across government programs to design user friendly technology, resolve issues, and ultimately improve access to services. In recognition of her accomplishments, Keri has been named a 2024 Emerging Leader by the APHSA -- American Public Human Services Association. The program honors professionals who demonstrate high performance over a sustained period and are seen as future leaders within their organizations and throughout the private and public healthcare and human services sectors. She will participate in the program at this week’s APHSA ISM + PHSA Education Conference & Expo. Keri says, “I never imagined that choosing a career path rooted in serving others would lead me to a career in IT. Throughout my years in public service, I‘ve had varying roles that were impacted by technology, from an end user, help desk analyst, business analyst, and now as a project portfolio manager. Every experience I’ve had, lesson I’ve learned, relationship I’ve made, and most importantly every success and failure I’ve encountered, shaped me into who I am today. Being able to tell our clients, ‘I have been in your shoes,’ has been instrumental in the impact I can make on their modernization projects.” Thank you, Keri, for your dedication to helping state governments better serve their citizens! Join us in congratulating Keri on being recognized as an Emerging Leader, and connect with her and the rest of the CSG team at Booth 317. #publicsectorIT #teamCSG #ISMPHSA2024

Organizational Change Management is an essential project analysis and communication program that focuses on the real-world effects that changes in information systems and business processes have on people in an organization. Last month, CSG's Kristin Sparks discussed how OCM is an important element in the successful implementation of new systems, business processes and organizational structures with Government Technology.
