Get to know digital strategist Sean DeAvies in our latest #StaffSpotlight! 🟢 What is your background in communications? ℹ️ My background is heavily marketing focused. After earning my bachelor’s degree in marketing from James Madison University during the transition into more digital forms of marketing, I realized that my degree was largely focused on traditional communication channels. I began working in different facets that power digital strategy (search-engine-optimization, pay-per-click advertising, social media, analytics, etc.). After learning about these areas, I focused on integration strategies that ensure all the components of a digital communication strategy function cohesively to achieve their intended goals. 🟢 How do you “reset” when you’re feeling stuck? ℹ️ I take a deep breath, disconnect, recognize what’s keeping me stuck, and then develop a plan to get unstuck. “Plan your work and work your plan” is my motto. I frequently use outside-the-box brainstorming exercises, research troubleshooting forums for people who have experienced similar dilemmas or reach out to colleagues for support. 🟢 How do you spend your free time? ℹ️ Most of my free time is dedicated to maintaining relationships with family and friends. Living by the coast keeps me busy and healthy between trying tasty food and having no shortage of outdoor activities. Surfing consistently challenges me to progress and get outside of my comfort zone, which carries over into many aspects of my life. 🟢 What is one of your professional or personal goals? ℹ️ Embracing AI applications for content and data analysis is at the forefront of my professional goals. By exploring the capabilities and limitations of various AI modules, I can leverage enhanced creative content and predictive analysis to develop more data-driven strategies.

Our staff has been diligently working with their feet on the ground at recent client events. Members of our TerraPower team created augmented reality exhibits and coordinated media for a groundbreaking ceremony of the Natrium reactor in Wyoming, while the Idaho National Laboratory team helped guide media efforts and tours of the INL site facilities. There’s nothing like being out in the field, meeting clients face-to-face, and experiencing their needs firsthand.
