🌿 Thrilled and honored to have been invited by Green Infrastructure Design to speak at the 1st Annual Green Infrastructure Design Conference in Carmel, California! My presentation, Sustainable Synergy: The Role of Hospitality & Tourism in Advancing Green Infrastructure, highlighted the transformative potential of our industry in driving environmental stewardship and supporting community well-being. This inspiring two-day event, held on October 29-30, 2024, gathered diverse voices and innovative strategies centered on achieving sustainability goals. This collaborative effort emphasizes our role in shaping a sustainable future. Reflecting on the experience took me back to my days at Michigan State University, where I was introduced to the work of Clare Gunn. His pioneering integration of tourism planning with landscape architecture has had a lasting impact on how we think about visitor experiences and destination management. Gunn’s vision emphasized preserving the integrity of landscapes while designing tourism spaces that connect visitors to the local environment and culture. His legacy remains deeply relevant as we continue to seek sustainable and thoughtful planning solutions. A huge thank you to Green Infrastructure Design for the invitation and for organizing such an impactful conference. I’m inspired by the collaboration and innovation I witnessed, and I look forward to seeing how our collective efforts will continue to advance sustainability in our fields! #Sustainability #GreenInfrastructure #TourismLeadership #ClareGunn #Hospitality #CarmelCalifornia #GreenDesign #SustainableTourism
