Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation

Yesterday we attended a ribbon cutting for a new section of the Condoguinet Greenway through Siebert Park in Camp Hill. The Greenway path provides a safe, scenic, and accessible route for outdoor recreation activities with the goal of connecting neighborhoods and creating walkable and bikeable communities. The project was completed thanks to funding from DCNR, the Fish and Boat Commission, the Lions Foundation, the Camp Hill Borough Storm Water Authority, and the Borough of Camp Hill.

WEDnetPA - Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania brings training-grant funds to qualified companies across the Commonwealth through a network of community colleges, state system universities, and other partners. Funding can be used for a wide range of incumbent worker training. The training must be skill-building for employee’s current job or for an advancement or promotion. This program is provided by a state appropriation through the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development. A couple of weeks ago, our ECON team toured the recently opened Sadler Health Center Corp in Mechanicsburg, PA. Sadler was awarded $2M of RACP funding for the construction of the community center on Trindle Road. ECON supports Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation, the project’s Grantee, and the Sadler Health team with compliance management to draw down the grant funds. The Local Share Account (LSA) Statewide grant is now open for applications, and interested non-profits can apply through CAEDC. We are seeking applicants who are non-profit organizations and need funding for projects that either have an economic development or tourism component in the region. The Real Estate Collaborative (REC) LLC, an affiliate of CAEDC, created REC FS LLC to enter into an agreement to purchase the former Frog Switch property in Carlisle, PA, for redevelopment purposes.
