Did you know your systems might be at risk even when users are disconnected or not actively using their computers? Our latest Cyber Threat Awareness Report uncovers two advanced threats targeting agencies and organizations: ▶️ Cybervolk ransomware Encrypts files and locks down critical systems, operating even when users disconnect from the network. Entering the wrong decryption key can cause permanent data loss, leaving your agency vulnerable to further breaches. ▶️ Qilin ransomware Hijacks login credentials directly from Google Chrome browsers on compromised devices, giving attackers access to critical systems and sensitive data and allowing them to spread deeper into your network. Learn actionable steps to mitigate these threats, from detecting early signs of compromise to strengthening your network's defenses @ https://lnkd.in/geniqsi6 Tamara Miller, PMP, Joshua Berg, #CyberSecurity #Ransomware #ThreatIntelligence #NetworkSecurity #DataProtection

CVP CARES: MAKING A DIFFERENCE, ONE TRAIL AT A TIME At CVP, we believe in the power of giving back to our communities. Our CVP Cares program embodies this commitment, strengthening our foundational tenets of public service and civic responsibility by empowering and enabling employee volunteerism. On September 20th, a dedicated group of 14 CVP employees united for a meaningful cause: cleaning up the Washington and Old Dominion Trail. This popular trail, stretching across Northern Virginia, is a beloved recreational haven for locals and visitors alike. Our team diligently tackled approximately 4 miles of the trail, collecting litter and debris along the way. By the end of our efforts, we had removed an impressive 25 pounds of trash, making a tangible difference that will enhance the trail experience for the community. This event exemplifies the essence of CVP Cares: building stronger communities, fostering environmental stewardship, and making a meaningful, lasting impact in the areas where we live and work. Our goal extends beyond simply picking up litter—we aim to inspire others to take action and care for our shared spaces. CVP Cares remains at the heart of our corporate social responsibility initiatives. We're committed to improving our community by engaging with local, state, and national organizations that serve populations within the CVP Cares focus areas of Community, Education, Health, and Military/Veterans. Many thanks to our dedicated employees for making this project such an incredible success: Lily Prokop, PMP Carlos Casaperalta Carter Lee Susan Adhikari, MBA Curtis Smith Michelle Lehtonen, SHRM-SCP Emma Sharman Andy Jefferson, PhD Cynthia Mars Tecala Jacqueline Martinson Mary Alex Hamby Francis Townsend Chris Schwalm #CVPCares #CorporateSocialResponsibility #Volunteering #CommunityService #EnvironmentalStewardship #WODTrail, #NOVAparks, #TrailsVA, #VirginiaOutdoors, NOVA Parks

CVP is excited to share that Chris Schwalm, our Senior Vice President of Corporate Growth, was selected to present at the 5th Annual AI4SE and SE4AI Workshop. This prestigious event, sponsored by the U.S. Army DEVCOM Armaments Center Systems Engineering Directorate and the Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC) Center, brings industry and academia together to focus on the critical theme: "Safer AI-Enabled Complex Systems: Responsible Deployment of AI through Systems Engineering." Chris represented CVP in a plenary panel discussion on "Opportunities and Risks for Leveraging Generative AI to Support SE Processes," moderated by Dr. Peter Beling from Virginia Tech. The conference explored how systems engineering can support the development of robust and ethical AI systems and examined how AI tools can transform systems engineering practices.
