Today we’re checking out our Central Water Project (CWP) Groundwater Polishing Plant with project engineer, Shaun. 👷♂️ Groundwater from a number of our wells in Vineyard, UT was becoming discolored when we introduced chlorine. Upon investigation, Manganese, a naturally occurring element was to blame. The need for a Polishing Plant, to remove the manganese, became apparent in order for us to deliver the highest quality water possible to our customers. The Polishing Plant will consist of 320 pressure vessels that will allow us to filter out the manganese from the water at system pressure. Want to learn more about all it takes to deliver one of our most valuable resources to Utahns day in and day out? Make sure to follow us! #CentralWaterProject #WaterResorces #Engineering #Utah #Groundwater

For water conservation to make a lasting impact, it takes a team effort. Residential. Commercial. Agriculture. All working in tandem. That's one of the many reasons we are so excited to see the results of this pioneering study utilizing sub-surface drip irrigation on alfalfa. #WaterConservation #Agriculture #Utah #ColoradoRiver
Our pilot project near Pelican Lake is comparing subsurface drip irrigation to traditional center pivot sprinklers on 30-acre alfalfa fields. Using advanced technology like eddy covariance stations and soil moisture sensors, we're measuring the difference in water use between these methods. This research is crucial for informing future investments in water-saving technologies, helping us protect Utah's precious water resources. Stay tuned for updates on this innovative project! 💧🌾 #WaterConservation #SustainableAgriculture #UtahInnovation Central Utah Water Conservancy District Utah State University Extension Utah Geological Survey

Join us today as we learn about one of our ongoing projects with project engineer, Bradley Perkins, P.E. 👨🔬 The Spanish Fork Santaquin Pipeline - Santaquin Reach, is part of a much larger project, the Central Utah Project (CUP). The CUP is the largest and most complex water resources development project in the state of Utah. It moves water resources from the Colorado River basin in eastern Utah to the Wasatch Front. The project provides water for municipal and industrial use, hydroelectric power, fish and wildlife, conservation, and recreation. This portion of the project highlighted in the video delivers water from Strawberry Reservoir through the mountains and canyons to the residents and businesses of Santaquin City.
